Reputable implant dentists in Islington
Dental implant treatment should always be delivered by a professional and reputable dentist using well-known implant brands.
Unfortunately, not all implants are made and placed equally. Cheap and obscure implant brands are often used in countries where implant dentistry is offered at a cut price, putting patients at risk of implant failure and infections. This means you could end up paying for treatment a second time around to resolve any complications. Some of these brands are also difficult to source componentry for, and so if any complications arise, it can, in some instances, mean the removal of implants, as parts are difficult or impossible to acquire in the UK.
We recommend doing your research when choosing an implant dentist in the UK. Here at Yourdental Wellness, we use premium branded implants, and the level of aftercare we offer our patients is excellent. Getting implant dentistry right from the start will mean you can have peace of mind and look forward to your new smile.
Your treatment journey
Prior to your consultation with one of our professional cosmetic dentists, we can offer a free virtual or in-house chat with one of our friendly and knowledgeable treatment coordinators, who can:
- Give you an introduction to a chosen treatment or help guide you through various options that can be available.
- Listen to your expectations of treatment.
- Outline the costs involved.
- Reassure anxious patients.
- Be a point of contact for you throughout the treatment process.
Step 1: Consultation
Your consultation allows us to understand the condition of your teeth and soft tissues. We will take X-rays and CT scans of your mouth and jaw so we can locate the area of the jawbone that will support the implant most successfully.
If you have low jawbone levels, we may need to carry out a bone graft, which will cultivate healthy bone for implant placement.
Step 2 Surgery day
Your implant(s) is placed under local anaesthetic; you also have the option of IV sedation to really put you at ease. Once implanted into the jaw, the implant forges a connection with the jawbone and heals in 3 to 6 months. We will ask you to come in for routine check-ups between your surgery and your restoration (crown) placement day so we can keep an eye on the healing process.
Step 3: Restoration – the exciting part!
This is when you will have your bespoke crown fitted, which will look like a natural tooth. This is attached solidly in place over the top of the implant, giving you prime chewing ability. No more gaps or moving dentures!
