Your treatment journey

Prior to your consultation with one of our professional cosmetic dentists, we can offer a free virtual or in-house chat with one of our friendly and knowledgeable treatment coordinators, who can:

  • Give you an introduction to a chosen treatment or help guide you through various options that can be available.
  • Listen to your expectations of treatment.
  • Outline the costs involved.
  • Reassure anxious patients.
  • Be a point of contact for you throughout the treatment process.

Boutique whitening works by safely breaking down the stain molecules within your tooth enamel.

Step 1: Consultation

Your dentist will check over your teeth and mouth. Good dental health and oral hygiene are a prerequisite for teeth whitening. Your dentist will then take digital scans of your mouth to make your custom-made trays.

Step 2: Treatment begins

The trays are ready for you to collect from the practice. Most patients will wear their trays for 14 days to achieve their desired shade, though the wear time will depend on when you wear your aligners. The daytime formula has a faster release time, whilst the night-time formula has a slower release time.

Treatment is convenient and easy; you will simply need to place a tiny amount of whitening gel into each tooth spacing of your trays. You then place your trays over your teeth and wait for your smile to reach that beautiful white finish.

Step 3: Top-ups

Your dentist can provide you with top-up whitening gel for future application to use with the trays you have.

FAQs

1. What is the whitening gel made of?

The day whitening gel contains hydrogen peroxide, whilst the night whitening gel normally contains carbamide peroxide.

You should only ever have teeth whitening performed by a dentist who can prescribe safe levels of these products. We strongly advise against using over-the-counter formulations, as they are not guaranteed to contain safe levels, therefore potentially causing harm to your mouth or body. Most may not be true, and long-lasting whitening results either.

2. How long does teeth whitening last?

We cannot put an exact timescale on how long your teeth will stay white, as it depends on factors like how well you care for your teeth and your diet. It’s possible for your teeth to stay white for up to 3 years as long as you avoid teeth-staining foods and brush and floss regimentally each day.

3. Do you offer an in-surgery teeth whitening treatment?

Yes, however, it’s only really suitable either in conjunction with home whitening as a booster or if someone wants a short-term whitening result due to an event (wedding/birthday party etc.).
